We know little, fear a lot and bury our heads in the sand. Dying takes place in secret. We only confront it when our own parents or a loved one passes away. It is the black box that we are all confronted with. The film shows how we die, what happens physically, what becomes of us. Witnessing the last breath is an uplifting moment. As unforgettable as a birth. The film is an invitation to look at what happens 10 minutes before death and 10 minutes after, what happens 10 months before death and 10 months after. And so a movie about dying is basically a movie about living.
